Who's it for?: For children 18-21 months of age with a loving adult.
Details:
Is your busy Explorer interested in how things work, building connections, mastering new skills, learning new words and concepts? Routines like circle time, lotion and story time encourage cooperation, listening and following directions. This semester-long playgroup offers the opportunity for your 18 – 21 month old to enjoy social interactions, familiar routines and a variety of more complex developmental activities each week. Experienced instructors provide parenting support and developmental information each week to caregivers, while providing structure and fun for your child.
- Classes begin with an interactive circle time featuring singing, dancing, puppets and props while encouraging language skills.
- Activity stations introduce new materials and concepts to encourage children to explore and interact.
- Sensory tables feature activities like doll bath time, car wash, or farm animals in the “mud”.
- Dramatic play is introduced with realistic toys, dolls and other age-appropriate props.
- Toddler safe art supplies and textural materials like play dough, paint, and goop are offered for creative and sensory exploration.
- Obstacle courses, slides, ramps, tunnels and balls promote mastery of motor skills.
- All along the way, children are working on listening, sharing, taking turns and navigating more complex social interactions.
- Familiar routines with story time, goodbye songs and bubbles conclude the class each week.
Registration Information:
- One registration accommodates one child and his/her caregiver.
- Twins:Please call 781.429.1500 to register for two spaces. Second twin $25. A second parent or caregiver is welcome but not required.
- Up to two make ups allowed during the same session.
- Class Length: One hour each week.
