Details:
This expert-led eight week series is filled with developmentally appropriate songs, games and gentle play activities for infants, and informative and timely discussions for moms. Enjoy the camaraderie of other moms and babies as you watch your baby start warming up to the world!
- Each meeting begins with a circle time of songs, bounces and finger-play activities that young babies love, specifically designed to foster physical, cognitive and language development.
- Planned discussions over the eight weeks include topics of interest to moms with growing babies.
- Information and support around daily routines, sleep patterns and napping, breastfeeding, bottle feeding and nutrition, introducing solid foods and sippy cups, baby-proofing and safety concerns, making work and child care choices, and stress and time management are included.
- Clean baby-safe toys are offered each week as an introduction to developmental play activities your baby will enjoy.
- Next Step Baby Group is the second of our New Moms Group series, designed specifically for mothers and babies from 3 – 5 months.
- This class is offered on weekdays and also on weekends for moms returning to full-time employment.
Registration Information:
- Registration is for mom and her baby. No extra fee for twins.
- This is a New Moms Group specifically for moms and babies. All new moms are welcome.
- Class length: 90 minutes each week for eight weeks.
*Our goal is to create an environment where each new parent feels welcomed, comfortable and safe in our Early Parenting groups. We recognize that there are many “right” ways to parent and we strive to offer a supportive environment where every new parent feels comfortable sharing the joys and challenges of this special time. Friendships begin on day one of the group and a true sense of trust, support and community develops over the course of the series. We've heard from mothers that six weeks was not quite long enough, and beginning in January 2012, our Great Beginnings, Second Time Moms and Next Step Baby Groups will be expanded to an eight-week format. |
