We recognize that there are many “right” ways to parent and we strive to offer a supportive environment where every new parent feels comfortable sharing the joys and challenges of this special time. Friendships begin on day one of the group and a sense of trust, support and community develops over the course of the series.

The award-winning eight week curriculum includes:

• Infant massage and techniques to relieve gas and improve digestion and promote sleep.
• Developmental play activities that even the youngest babies will enjoy and benefit from.
• Tummy time tips with suggestions that work to improve tummy time tolerance.
• Explore nurturing new ways to entertain, engage and interact with your baby.
• Soothing and settling techniques to decrease fussiness and calm babies.
• Lots of support around feeding patterns and sleeping concerns.
• Tips for establishing daytime and nighttime routines.
• Health and safety information to prevent, manage or recognize common newborn or mom issues.
• Discussions about the return to work, child care choices and decision-making.
• Our new moms consistently rate Great Beginnings as “the best thing I did for my baby and myself!” and “the highlight of our week!”
• Our clean, private classroom is set up for your comfort with nursing pillows, bottle warmer and clean changing table.
• Crying babies are welcome here! Feeding and fussing are normal, expected baby behaviors!

Registration Information:

• Registration is for mom and her baby. No extra fee for twins.
• This is a New Moms Group specifically for moms and babies. All new moms are welcome.
• If registering prenatally, select a class that starts one month after your baby's due-date: your baby will then be about 2-6 weeks at start of group.
• Plan to attend as early as feasible: new moms often wish they’d started the class sooner.
• Class length is 1:45 hours each week for eight weeks.
