Sleep Support for Toddlers 16-36 months

Toddlers are busy learning, moving, playing, running (and testing limits) all day long and it can be hard for them to transition into sleep-time. All toddlers (and their parents!) need a restful night of sleep for health and happiness. This two hour class offers an overview of the biology of toddler sleep and an understanding of the sleep needs and common issues of this age-group, with research based and real-life suggestions to lead toward better sleep. Class includes opportunity for individual questions, discussion and development of an Action Plan as desired.

A variety of related topics will be covered as an overview or in depth depending on the needs of attendees, including:

Bedtime struggles, getting out of bed at night, transitioning from crib to bed, too-early morning wake up time, unable to fall asleep without help, or fear of being left alone.

Other areas often discussed include questions about new siblings or room sharing, nightmares and night terrors.

We will address common nap concerns and transitions such as short naps, fighting naps, changing naptime due to preschool/childcare and transitioning away from a daytime nap.

The importance of maintaining consistency, positive limit-setting and follow-through, and good communication between caregivers is emphasized and very important when dealing with sleep concerns with the 16-36 month old.

The registration fee covers one parent. A second parent (or grandparent or nanny/caregiver) is welcome to attend at half-price. Please register for two spaces if two adults are planning to attend.

This is an adult-focused informational lecture/discussion requiring focused attention. We thank you for finding alternate care for your toddler during the session.

Individual consults are also available by appointment.

What people are saying:
“I took your class last week. I have 19 month old b-g twins and I had to write you because… it is working!!! I tweaked some things at night based on your advice and they are totally sleeping now and I am sooo thrilled. I have also been tweaking their before-nap time activities to ease into the nap and sticking to the 1pm nap (they sleep late in the a.m.) THANK YOU so much for your help. I have to say the past few nights have been so amazingly peaceful.”
