Movers & Groovers
Is your little person upright, babbling and on the move? Then you’ve got a Mover & Groover!
Each session begins with an expanded, language-based welcome circle with songs, movement, finger plays, infant sign language, puppets and props. We then move on to a developmental topic and activities planned around the developmental theme of the week. Favorite activities of this age group include gross motor explorations with tunnels and learning to safely climb up and slide down our indoor baby-safe slides. Exploration tables meet the “fill and dump” passion and new manipulatives encourage fine motor play and concentration.
Parents and caregivers have time each week for sharing updates on their week, asking questions and problem solving together. Near the end of each session we will slow down with a closing circle including a story book, bubbles, and a good-bye song. These almost-one year olds quickly respond to the weekly routine and begin to interact and enjoy the other children, showing empathy and engaging in parallel play.
Age Range: 9 to 11 months at start.
