The Importance of an Estate Plan: How to Provide for Minor Children
Wednesday, 9/15 at 7:00 PM in Brookline
For most new parents, life is about functioning on a few hours of sleep a night, squeezing in a daily shower, and finding clothes that actually fit. Big "to-do's" are easily put on the backburner, and as a result, many new parents fail to create (or revise) Wills, Trusts or appropriate Guardianship documents. Please join Jaime Kim as she discusses the consequences of not having these documents in place, and how parents can provide for their minor children through proper estate planning. Jaime is an attorney with King & Navins, P.C., in Wellesley, MA, the mother of a four year old daughter and one year old son and an avid Isis fan.
Help Me Get Ready to Read
Tuesday, 10/19 at 7:00 PM in Needham
Reading aloud during the first five years of children’s lives opens their ears to the sounds of words, their eyes to the wonder of pictures, their minds to new ideas, and their hearts to a love of books and learning. It is never too soon to learn appropriate reading strategies to use when reading aloud to your children. Beginning in their earliest years, infants and toddlers make positive connections to books as they develop listening and speaking skills. In this interactive workshop, Susan Marx and Barbara Kasok, authors of Help Me Get Ready to Read: The Practical Guide to Reading Aloud to Children During the First Five Years will discuss research on the importance of reading aloud to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and present information about early literacy concepts and skills. They will share reading strategies to use to introduce early literacy concepts and skills and recommend books to read aloud to young children.
Registration required. FREE for Members. Families and babies welcome at all events!
