HypnoBirthing

HypnoBirthing®, a childbirth method developed by Marie Mongan, prepares couples for childbirth by using self-hypnosis, breathing, light touch and other techniques to facilitate deep relaxation. This method helps women work with the mind and body to increase comfort and minimize the need for medical intervention. In this class, partners and support persons are taught how to support women as they practice and implement the techniques throughout pregnancy and labor. This comprehensive class is designed to fully prepare couples for all aspects of labor, birth and the immediate postpartum period. Birthing videos will be viewed. We encourage you to take this class in the early second trimester, if possible, to allow time to practice the techniques you learn throughout the remainder of your pregnancy. Please wear comfortable clothing that is suitable for practicing labor positions (such as squatting). This class is designed for one pregnant person and their nonpregnant partner or support person.

Price includes class materials—a book, two CDs and relaxation scripts to assist in one’s learning of these techniques. Note: Some insurance plans will reimburse up to $100 after you have completed your childbirth education class. Be sure to check with your insurance company to see if you qualify.
