Spring Units for Kindermusik

Posted on February 12th, 2009 in Class Happenings.

Registrations are underway for the next Kindermusik Family Time and Kindermusik Village  sessions.

In Kindermusik Family Time, appropriate for toddlers, siblings and mixed ages, children sing, dance, and move through several elements of music: beat and rhythm, concepts and contrasts, such as smooth and detached, high and low. Children will learn about instrument families and ensembles too, all of which are in the “Make Way for Music” unit. They will also be engaged in fingerplays, songs, circle dances, story time, and playing an assortment of instruments in the “family jam” portion of the class. To continue the music-making at home, every family will receive a set of home materials, which consists of two fingerdrums, two CDs, two literature books, a family guide, and a hand and finger puppet of Rex the lion, and an instrument matching board game.

Rhythm of the Day in Kindermusik Village, offers an introduction to American Sign Language, and is highlighted by the concept of a family’s daily rituals and routines. Songs and activities are designed to help baby and parent incorporate music into many of their regular routines, as well as help baby develop long lasting skills. The home materials includes a baby’s literature book, home CD, art banner and a rhythm basket instrument for music-making at home.
